An "Ah-Ha" Moment

I was out doing some last minute Christmas shopping and was looking down a candy aisle when the thought of “those weight watcher people certainly don’t eat like me” laughingly went through my mind.

It was that thought that brought me to a complete stop….I was correct, they don’t eat like me and they are losing weight….and well, I’m not.
It made me think of the quote: “You can’t keep doing the same things and expect a different result.” 
Hmmmmm……..

I need to get my butt in gear. Not after the first of the year but NOW. Time to hop back on the weight loss wagon and get moving.

I’ve decided to do a modified version of Weight Watchers. It will not be Smart Points, I don’t like SP and I’m never going to; fighting SP has prevented me from losing weight. I’m not blaming SP; I’m blaming me for fighting it for too long. The saying find the weight loss plan you like or else you won’t stick to it comes to mind here; I can’t do SP, because I don’t like it!

I think I’ll stick with Simply Filling. Why SF doesn’t require the weighing, measuring, tracking….I’ll start by doing that. I can’t depend on the “stop eating when you’re full; not stuffed” rule – if I were able to do that, I wouldn’t need Weight Watchers.

In case, WW has left you in the cold on Simply Filling, it is the no count option. You eat from a list of certain foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains, fat free dairy, lean proteins, light breads) which you need not count any points for. Anything off the list comes out of your weekly points allotment. If you are a Weight Watchers member the information is available here:

Go into your app/website settings and change your tracking method to Simply Filling.

Also, I’ve just learned a little trick you can do, if you don’t like losing weekly points…go into your tracker settings ONLINE (can’t do it on the app).  Change your settings from Losing to Maintaining.  It will then allow you to set your Daily (if still counting points) and Weekly points to what you want (to a certain max of course).  Nice hidden feature!
